Positioning and creating a brand for a multi-purpose venue on a mission.
Adjacent to the Fraser River in the town of Winter Park, Headwaters Center is a new venue, developed as a hub for people, community, and conversation. With three distinct uses, Headwaters Center will house an ecology center, helping to raise awareness about water issues; an event center, offering indoor and outdoor event rental space and housing a variety of public events and an education center to connect patrons with higher education opportunities. The challenge was marrying all these uses, given their distinct audiences and functions, under one brand that honors the mission it has set out to accomplish.Solution
Create a fresh brand to differentiate the Center and start to communicate its offerings in a welcoming way
With its broad mix of components - part community center, part event facility, part ecology center, and part education hub - our goal was to create a brand that could organize all of these components, and at the same time stand out from the typical mountain look to help relay its difference. We also wanted to create a brand that was inviting and not too heavy to reflect the owners approach to education around water conservation and river preservation, and commitment to community building. Specifically, we designed the branding, collateral and website to support the opening.
